Presence is always here.

Presence is not something we create or achieve; it is something we recognize and allow.

Awareness is the open, spacious field in which everything appears. Presence is how fully we inhabit that awareness in any given moment.

We can recognize presence in the quiet space between breaths.

In the moment we notice the aroma of freshly brewed tea.

In the moment the mind begins to wander, and we see the thoughts arise without following them.

In the moment the sun sets and joy is felt softly in the heart.

In the moment we are crying, the body shaking, because we allow the emotion to flow freely.

Awareness is always present, whether we notice it or not. Presence is our conscious participation in that awareness—our willingness to be here, now, with whatever is arising.

Presence is not effort. It is remembering what is already here.
